Mahiti is a social enterprise that provides simple and effective open source web technology. Websites, software development … Mahiti offers a range of services to its clients : NGOs, social entreprises, foundations…

In parallel, Mahiti sells the same servicies to private groups, charging at a higher price. This allows Mahiti to be economically independent, and even to make a profit which is invested in its activity towards « social organizations ».

This is an example of an intelligent combination of “for-profit” and “non-profit”. It shows that the debate is not necessarily for or against the profit “in social enterprises but where does the money that allows the company to live come from..
